What we did and saw:
Started the day in Buffalo Pound visiting the buffalo that rome on the range. Had another windy swim in Buffalo Pound lake, then in the car for the big trip.
Decided to get off the Trans-Canada and onto the Red Coat Trail in Saskatchewan. This is the original route the RCMP took when they struck out from Winnipeg to tame the West. I was speeding, and a nice RCMP officer stopped us and gave us a written warning. We talked about the Red Coat Trail, and he tried to find some RCMP colouring books for the kids in his cruiser, but didn't have any. Alas.
We had planned for a long day of driving, to drive into the night and get a motel, and were shooting for Kenora, Ontario. We arrived in Kenora about 11:30pm. There were no hotels/motel rooms available in the whole city. They just laughed at us. So we kept going and arrived in Vermillion Bay at about 2am. We woke a very nice lady at the North Side Motel who set us up. I managed to locked the key in the motel room within 2 minutes of arriving, so Jane went back and woke her up again. Good teamwork.
Animals we saw
Buffalo : it's obvious that we saw buffalo.the buffalo were inside a fence.
